Inner Truth and Belief systems

Are your beliefs serving you or not?

“Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.”

Buddha

What is truth and how/where can we find it?

What makes something true? Every single one of us has their own opinions and ideas, and they are all valid because we are all unique drops in this infinite ocean of divine intelligence. The time for ignorance is over and we are are all being called to wake up from much of what has kept us in the dark.

But, we've all been told different things about truth, especially through religions and their rituals, dogmas and doctrines that don't really make much sense when we dare to look at them. Many of us are afraid to question these "beliefs" because we fear moving away from our comfort zone or what others might think. But, a belief is just a thought that repeats itself over and over again. It has been proven that our beliefs shape our reality more than anything else. Whatever the excuses are for these beliefs, we need to realize that it is just our ego identity, and we need to transcend this aspect of ourselves to move towards our true potential. Its a process of changing our beliefs to create the reality we want. These beliefs are usually barricades that keep us stuck.

I, for one, am excited to be living in a time when masses of people are expressing freedom of thought, that was previously wasted on dogma and mental boxes; set up by those who had hidden agenda's. Speaking from a Catholic background I know that the fear based religions would rather prevent the true knowledge and wisdom from seeping into the minds of their flock. They encourage a closed mind to remain in power and distorted and manipulated many truths. They also don't encourage opening your mind to any outside knowledge or anything that might liberate you from the fear based paradigm. They want you to stay in the fear matrix and keep your mind from being enlightened. To me, this is the ultimate desire for power and control which keeps this institution from crumbling under its own weight.
It was very empowering for me to finally realize that I didn't have to serve my "religious" beliefs but rather have my beliefs serve me. I could choose what my higher self was guiding me to believe based on love rather than fear from the ego-identity. Many of us are now realizing that our "faith" or the fear based beliefs that we were conditioned to believe, that what our parents and their parents were conditioned to believe were not assisting us into evolving to a higher level of consciousness. What a perfect way to transcend it, by growing up within such an environment and moving beyond it, to become more of who we really are? It's the perfect opportunity to evolve.

I know for me, the path to opening my mind was very subtle and slow but I know what I resonated with and what I didn't, even as a child. If fear had any part to play in the teaching or book I was came across, I had the sense that it wasn't my truth, it just glorified to the ego mind.

It is great that more minds are seeing the limitations that so many limiting beliefs have created in their version of reality. The beliefs taint one's perception to the point where we think we are what we believe. That is why so many people would die for their beliefs or fight others, they are so completely enveloped by these beliefs.
I know one thing for certain, a true religion or set of beliefs should not hide knowledge that has the potential to set you free. But those who have the power won't give you that knowledge. We are moving to the point where we have to see how we are all connected as one Humanity and not get pulled away from knowing we are all in this evolutionary journey together. Therefore we must embrace everyone, regardless of any difference in faith, color, political standing, nationality, etc. One of my favorite quotes from funny man Bill Maher is "We are a nation that is unenlightened because of religion. I do believe that. I think religion stops people from thinking. I think it justified crazies".

We must break free from all the limiting beliefs and the barriers that prevent us from reaching our full potential. When we realize that the truth is within our hearts we will never give our power away to anyone ever again. The reward is the joy of freedom to be who you were created to be. Our inner guidance can never lead us astray if we focus on taking full responsibility for ourselves100% of the time. It is very important to remain centered in our integrity to follow our higher self in order to stay balanced. Of course, their are great websites and books that your higher self will guide you to find when you are ready.
So as our way shower, Jesus said, "the key of knowledge is within", inside one's feeling body. Innocent ignorance is no longer an option when quantum physics has proven what the mystics have said for thousands of years.

One thing is for sure, you won't find the whole truth in religions, governments, media or any other institution owned by those few who possess all the money and power. The goal was to keep you ignorant but it wasn't meant to last forever. We can claim our abdication with courage and will, the will that comes from our higher self that is always leading us out of the maze of lies that keep us trapped. We are here because we have come to shed light on the darkness, and remember our powers to co-create in harmony.

The following is is from metaphysical Doctor Toni Petrinovich's website-www.sacredspaceswa.com. I found the following questions very helpful for myself to help me see beliefs in a more conscious way.
Ask yourselves these questions about any of your beliefs:

1. Where did the belief originate?

2. Why do I believe it?

3. What do I feel when I think about not believing it?

4. Is fear part of this belief?

5. Does the belief serve my sense of inner peace or is it serving someone or something else?

When you ask these five questions of all your beliefs, then you realize that 99.99% of what you have confidence in, including what you claim to be your spiritual knowing can be traced to some one's need to control and/or be right. :-)

Their are many eye-opening videos and articles that I highly suggest watching to do with metaphysical and spiritual topics. A high amount of great teachings are online, just use your discernment!

  1. Just noticed the 'blessed be.'

No wonder you're cool. Wiccans are one religion that I can deal with.

    Hey, merry meet....

    (I do ceremonial, hermetic style)

Now I know that the two posts that I told you about will interest you. Very curious now to get your feedback.

  2. Sorry, not part of Wicca...don't even know what that's about...lol. I'm into the oneness...we're all part of the ONE!

  3. I'm not wiccan either. You accidentally used the traditional wiccan greeting, "Blessed be!" so I'm afraid that I assumed you were one. I am a student of several things, one of them being the occult. However your comment about the "one" says to me that I am likely closer even to your philosophy than to the Wiccan one, which is after all a religion which I know only a little about. I am not religious in any way, but I sense reality is not material as we think it is. There, I've said it.
I write at length about that on my blog, which is why I wanted you to read those two posts, not to advertise on your blog or anything like that. (There is now a third post that you might find interesting, or perhaps not, who can say?)
If you'd rather speak as we are right here, that's fine too, no need to post to my blog.

Being 'into the oneness' as you are, are you also 'into the twoness' as in, into the idea of duality, as in yin and yang or whatever? Just curious.

I like your comments about the 'ego mind.' I use similar terminology, and even more often, since I usually speak to christians, use the term "The Sin of Pride" which is descriptive of much the same thing.

    Interesting blog you have here.

Blessed be.. ;-) You non-witch, you.

  4. Hey St Brian

I am so not into religions either...they almost make you lock yourself into a box and close your mind to further knowledge. I'm happy that we are moving away from duality and into oneness. That is what resonates with me.
Yes, I have checked out your wonderful blog...you seem to know so much so not sure where to start commenting...you are very perceptive, I wish I could be as much, hehe.. Anyhow, those lovely Funamentalist Christians, drive me up the wall, but hey, I still gotta lov'em. We're all part of the whole after all.

  5. True enough.

I wish they could see how narrow a box they've put themselves into.

It's such a waste of minds.

Is this blog new? I don't see many past posts.

You heal with energy? How does that feel to you? I'm curious, not doubting.

Incidentally I see duality not like DeCartes but more like yin and yang, as being 'two in one' as it were. I think of everything in these terms. It's useful to me.

In fact instead of yin and yang I tend to think in terms of the kaballah and it's 'tree of life.'

You see, logic-based personalities IMHO cannot see intuitive subjects well, and I was one but wanted to, so I found a system of 'filing' reality into categories that includes the intuitive and even some would say the spiritual. I'm not a Jew and I only have exposure to what is called the Hermetic Kaballah so it has influences from many sources, which I like. Plus the judeao-christian imagery employed is familiar to me and thus more effective than say, Vedic or Zen imagery.

I also tend to think in zen buddhist terms, come to think of it. Y'Ever hear of Maya? The veil of illusion that covers and conceals the true reality? That I can agree with. However I do not seek to rid myself from all attachment, only most, only the superficial attachments like material things. Love, I believe, is not something to rid one's self of in pursuit of nirvana.

Anyhow, that's me, and glad to meet you.
